MACC Celebrates the Successful Completion of the MACC Engage Project

Empowering Awareness and Engagement for Crohn’s and Colitis Support

The Malta Association of Crohn’s and Colitis (MACC) is a voluntary organization dedicated to raising awareness about Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, providing support to individuals affected by these invisible illnesses. Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, MACC aims to improve the quality of life for sufferers and their families. The organization fosters understanding, promotes early diagnosis, and builds a supportive community for those living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) in Malta. MACC is delighted to announce the successful completion of the “MACC Engage” project, funded by the Small Initiative Support Scheme. This transformative initiative, launched to enhance awareness of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and hidden disabilities while boosting engagement with members and volunteers, has achieved all its objectives and will officially launch its final outputs in February 2025.

The MACC Engage project has delivered several significant outcomes that strengthen MACC’s capacity to support sufferers and engage with the wider community.

  • New Website Launch: The redesigned website is now live, providing a modern, user-friendly, and mobile-optimized platform. With improved functionality and enhanced SEO, the website will serve as the primary communication hub for MACC’s initiatives. Visitors will benefit from a seamless browsing experience, while MACC can directly manage content to ensure timely updates.
  • Online Shop and Donations Facility: The new online shop introduces a vital income stream for MACC. Featuring a secure donation facility integrated with a payment gateway, the platform makes supporting MACC’s mission easier than ever.
  • Comprehensive Brand Manual: A newly developed brand manual ensures consistent and cohesive communication across all platforms. The manual defines rules for logo usage, typography, color palettes, and imagery to strengthen MACC’s brand identity.
  • GDPR Policy Implementation: A dedicated GDPR policy tailored to MACC’s operations addresses privacy concerns, safeguarding the rights of individuals engaging with the organization.

The completion of the MACC Engage project marks a significant milestone for the organization, reinforcing its commitment to advocacy, education, and support for individuals affected by Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis.

MACC invites the public, stakeholders, and members to explore the new website and its features. Together, we can continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those impacted by IBD.

MACC Secures Funding for MACC Engage Project to Enhance Awareness and Engagement

MACC (Malta Association of Crohn’s and Colitis) is a VO dedicated to raising awareness about this invisible disease and providing support to sufferers. Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, MACC strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals affected by Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis.

The VO is pleased to announce that it has obtained funds from the Small Initiative Support Scheme to launch MACC Engage, a transformative project aimed at improving engagement with disease sufferers and the general public. The primary objective of MACC Engage is to increase overall awareness about hidden disabilities with particular focus on IBD and subsequently boost membership and volunteer engagement within MACC.

The project will focus on leveraging MACC’s web presence as the primary communication medium with its audiences. This strategic decision was made considering the organization’s limited financial resources, as the online platform offers the highest return on investment.

Key components of the MACC Engage project include the creation of a comprehensive brand manual. This document will ensure consistent and cohesive branding across all MACC communication materials, outlining rules and guidelines for logo usage, typography, colour palette and imagery.

In addition, MACC will undergo a complete website redesign as part of a branding upgrade initiative. The new website will feature enhanced functionality, allowing MACC to directly manage all content. It will be 100% mobile-friendly and optimized for search engine optimization (SEO) to improve visibility. The modern, user-friendly design will enhance the image of MACC and provide a seamless experience for visitors.

An online shop will also be established to generate new income streams for MACC. The shop will include a donations facility connected directly to a payment gateway, facilitating easier collection of funds.

Furthermore, a GDPR policy will be created specifically for MACC’s website, addressing privacy concerns within the health issues support groups sphere in which the organization operates.
